"You Play Video Games? Girls don't play games!”



You would not believe how often I hear that. I guess that guys have a hard time thinking that a woman like me would be a gamer. I guess that I do not fit the preconceived notions that most people think when they hear “female gamer”.



I enjoy gaming so much, and I am such a hard-core gamer, that I do not understand why other women are not as well.



I started playing video games after I bought my first system ever in 2003. I bought a Playstation 2 and Final Fantasy X to go with it. I enjoyed it so my collection of games started to grow. Then I was introduced to computer gaming when an old friend recommended that I try playing Guild Wars so after a little debate I tried it in the summer of 2006. I really enjoyed playing it so now my collection of that game is growing and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Guild Wars 2.



Then Whence introduced me to Magic and Dungeons and Dragons and now I am an avid player of both.



I do not get a big thrill from going clothes or shoe shopping. Don't get me wrong I like to dress up now and again but I rather be in jeans and a t-shirt.



I love the great outdoors. I just recently went on a four day camping trip with my family. We all had a great time. It was quite nice to get away from the “real” world for awhile and spend time reconnecting with loved ones. There is nothing like the feeling of being one with nature and sleeping out underneath the stars. We even had a black bear that would come visit the campsite.



I also like to bike, hike, backpack and rock climb. My first real love for the outdoors comes from going horseback riding. Not the sissy kind with the jumping over steeples but real riding with a western saddle and on trails. I even competed in a few Rodeos and have been on a Buffalo Round-up.



I also enjoy taking pictures, mostly of the great outdoors,



I am also in the process of writing two books. One is a collection of my mazes and poems and the other one is a collection of my families favorite recipes. It is just a dream to get them published but you never know, it might happen.



I watch a few movies and TV shows but the ones I enjoy the most are always the SciFi ones.
